No baby yet. Click here to see some pregnancy photos.
They broke the water and put Laura on an IV.
We just went for a walk around the maternity ward to speed things up.
Contractions are about three minutes apart. The baby is at "station -1." Station 0 is when the baby is at the pelvis, and you start pushing when she's at +2.. so we've got a little way to go.
Contractions are getting more and more painful and the baby has dropped down some more. Check out these pictures from the labor so far.
About an hour ago Laura was 6 cm. dilated so it looks like we'll be here a little bit longer. We just got an epidural.
Laura has been able to rest in the last 30 minutes or so. The nurse just checked her and she's 8 cm. dilated, and the baby has moved down to something between -1 and "station zero" so we're movin' along.
9 cm. dilated!
A while ago they added a bag of Patossin to the IV.. it's supposed to speed things up. Laura's been in a really pleasent mood.. no pain! Here's a few more pictures.
After a couple hours of rest, we began pushing at 5:30. Dr. Crowe will be on her way shortly. The baby still needs to come down a little bit.. our nurse says she's looking the wrong way right now.
Callia has moved down a little more and we can see the top of her head when Laura's pushing. She has hair and it's light colored.. not too dark. Laura has told me to get off the computer.
Dr. Crowe arrived.
Callia Lee Riden was born weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces.. 20.5 inches long. Pictures are here.
Check out Callia's first video.
More first day photos.
We added more photos to Callia - Day 1.
We're home from the hospital! Callia has a bit of jaundice, but other than that we're all doing fine. Here's the pictures.
Over the last few days we've been treating the jaundice and welcoming visitors!
