Santa Baby

It's Callia's second Christmas, and she's had a blast. I have been nostalgic for days now. I was looking at pictures from last Christmas, and she was sitting underneath the tree teething on one of her christmas presents. So much has happened. She can walk, no I am sorry, run everywhere now. She is talking in full sentences. I do have to translate quite a bit still. She can tell us what she needs, which is a new mommy's dream come true. She is beginning to understand what I am talking about. Not only does she understand the word "no", but it is her favorite word to say.
So, we were supposed to go to Oklahoma this year for the holidays, but the nasty weather stood in our way. So, we would like to send lots of love and hugs and kisses from Callia to her cousins Kayden, Mika, and Riley.. and to her Aunt Melissa and Uncle Mike and Aunt Jess and Uncle Duncle. We miss and love you and are busy planning another trip really soon.
Santa Claus came to visit Callia last night. I haven't had this much fun with her since she learned how to eat solid food. Chad dressed up in a really good Santa suit and knocked on the door last night bearing gifts. He threw in a "Budweiser" for "Daddy". Callia was excited, but it really shocked her I think. She wouldn't let Santa hold her. But, when Chad came in, we told him all about "Santa", and Callia handed Chad his "present". Then we played and she fell asleep in the rocking chair with a moist cookie dangling in her sleepy hand. So cute. I rocked her for a while longer and looked at all of the Christmas lights and decorations. I actually felt like time stopped for a few minutes so that I could take it all in and store it with my most precious memories of my little girl. I always thought Christmas was whimsical as a child, but I never could have imagined how much fun it is to be on this end of the big production. She's been singing Jingle Bells all morning and Frosty The Snowman.
Chad and I got her a red wagon for Christmas, so we piled her and all of her "babies" in and went for a nice, snowy ride this morning.
Perry and David are in Disney Land this Christmas, and Kirk and Erin are visiting her family in Minnesota. They got stranded in Indiana, and Jess and Duncan had an eventful trip to Oklahoma. Our new Meredith Grace is having her very first Christmas in Boston right now. It has been extremely odd not being able to celebrate with family this year, but we are making the best of it.
We love you all, and Callia sends her love. Merry Christmas everybody!!
